nimbus

Contemporary dance solo

This contemporary dance solo is a journey into the internal conflicts humans undergo when their expectations, their dreams, their aspirations get broken. The rain of a nimbus (a dark and amorphous cloud) serves as a metaphor for that transitional moment in life when our hopes suddenly are washed away, leaving us in a state of loss and confusion. And when one thinks all is over, a new light appears, a rainbow of possibilities emerges, encouraging us to rebuild ourselves, to find the strength within.

"What he does is marked with perfection and beauty underlined with intelligence. I always think of him as a poet. And his body is totally tuned so it produces music in dance."
Aditi Mangaldas
International Kathak dancer, director of Drishtikon Dance Foundation
"He moves so swiftly under the warm light that his arms seem as fluid as the silk fabric that dance pioneer Loïe Fuller once swirled around her body."
Lieve Dierckx
Pzazz - Belgian review platform
"This contemporary solo piece was mesmerising with the fluidity of his arm, hand and body movements simulating the formations of nimbus clouds."
Lyn Hurst
The Local Paper (Review of Sangam Festival 2021, Australia)
"Together with his movements and eerie music that grew heavier and incorporated heartbeats, a sense of foreboding was created."
