In a seemingly abandoned place where time solidifies, two bodies are subjected to a machine with tight rhythms and electronic sounds. Like in a feverish dream, the two bodies attempt to break free, searching for an alternative. In the ruins of what remains, they fantasize about a place where time is spent differently.
THE TIME IT TAKES {nomadic} frames within Filipino-German choreographer and performer Izah Hankammer's artistic research in which she questions how the human body can act as an engine of resistance. Starting from this transformative power, she questions the political, cultural and social aspects of time and rhythm that shape our modern world.
With this {nomadic} version, Izah creates short performances in unexpected places. By doing so, she considers the various scenes and musical fragments as deformable building blocks that can adapt to the location. Hankammer continues this project afterwards, working towards a full-length performance in 2026. She will do so within the 'new maker project' Inter:Action.
