Wim Opbrouck, curator of the closing event of the WWI commemoration, asked composer Steven Prengels and Maghenta to conceptualize a work for the peace manifestation Peace to the World. A 4-part contemporary production was designed to the tones of the harmony orchestra Ypriana. With this production we commemorated the Sikhs soldiers who died in the Flemish fields under British rule, but also celebrated the beauty and dynamism of life. Prengels adapted Richard Strauss compositions, speeches of world leaders and a bombastic Bollywood song. For these compositions Maghenta created a contemporary dance duet and dance solo by in-house choreographer Laura Neyskens, a hand choreography inspired by Indian mudras, and a full power Bollylicious choreography to end the production with a bang. The performance was received with great applause on August 25th, 2018.
